First Aid Courses

General Tips

Karin attended her first ever First Aid Courses (free through the NHS) through her health visitor, but they have since stopped running them. They are incredibly important to do though, so please check with your GP or health visitor to see if they offer any first aid or resuscitation classes.

Karin recommends that you don’t bring your child to any first aid courses. You want to be fully focussed on the course and it is hard to be able to do so when you have your own child present. Additionally, a good class should provide dolls to practise on and you will need both hands available.

If you employ a nanny, have an au-pair or babysitter, make sure they know their paediatric first aid and ideally they should have a valid first aid certificate.

The NHS has a first aid app.

Below are details of first aid courses provided by private companies.
