NW8-mums has never been about money. Had I wanted that to be the case, I would not have run it for 12 years on a voluntary basis. However, the group has grown from two handfuls of members to a few thousand, and in 2021 I reached breaking point; I was too overwhelmed by the sheer volume of emails, messages via WhatsApp, social media and more. It was a case of either shutting NW8-mums down or finding a more sustainable way in order to be able to continue.
I did find a way of continuing and as a result NW8-mums now operates as an ethical business connecting both local people and businesses as well as collaborates with local businesses (both physical and online based). If there is any profit at the end of a fiscal year, I will also make a donation every year to a charity that is close to my heart.
