There is an abundance of things to do in and near St John’s Wood. The fact that we are so close to the centre of London and can get to places easily makes it an even better place to live and raise a family. On this page we have shared some general thoughts on what to do and where to go. People write books about this and the list is endless. The ultimate guide is Time Out. However, please make sure to follow the NW8-mums’ Instagram account where we frequently share things about what to do and where to go.
Museums
There are numerous things to do and below are just a few.
We are not sure if The London Zoo (ZSL) is technically a museum, but we are including it here. It is well worth getting an annual pass to the zoo. Children under the age of 3 go in for free. The 274 bus stops at the zoo.
For a day out, their other zoo, Whipsnade Zoo, is also worth a visit.
The Jewish Cultural Centre, JW3, a couple of blocks north of the O2 Centre, have a lot of activities to suit everyone. All the double decker buses going north on Finchley Road from St John’s Wood (13 and 113) will take you there. Get off at Finchley Road & Frognal. You can also take the 187 and get off at the O2 Centre and just walk up the road a couple of blocks.
Below are some favourite museums.
Theatre
There are always new plays and musicals around, so the best thing to do is look at websites like Time Out.
